How Our Programs Work
Reaching out to a program you've never tried before takes courage. Here's exactly what to expect from your first contact through your first session.
Step 1 — A free 15-minute phone call
You tell us what brought you here, and we listen. We'll ask a few questions to understand what you're hoping for and answer any questions you have. There's no pressure and no obligation. If we're not the right fit, we'll tell you and where possible point you toward someone who is.
Step 2 — An intake form and (for some programs) a brief in-person visit
If we agree to move forward, we'll send a short intake form. For therapeutic riding, we'll schedule a 30-minute facility visit so you can meet the horses and we can complete a riding readiness check.
Step 3 — Your first session
Wear closed-toe shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Allow extra time for your first visit so we can show you around. You'll meet your Equine Specialist or Instructor, meet your horse partner for the day, and begin.
Step 4 — Reflection and rhythm
Our participants attend weekly. We'll periodically check in on goals and adjust the program as needed. Many people find that what surfaces in the arena finds its way into the rest of their week.
What we will never do
• Push you onto a horse you're not ready for
• Promise outcomes we can't deliver
• Diagnose, treat, or claim to treat any mental health condition (we are not a clinical practice)
• Share what happens in your sessions with anyone outside our team without your written consent
